Beautifying Newlands: Quay 1 & the Kildare Circle

We're proud to share that Quay 1 recently partnered with the Newlands Community Improvement District (CID) and Living Roots, a social enterprise by U-Turn, to beautify the Kildare Circle in Newlands. Together, we helped transform this well-loved corner into a greener, more welcoming space for residents and visitors alike.

March Turnbull, General Manager of the Newlands CID, shared that thousands of cars and pedestrians move through the space every week, and that "the existing pot plants had been in need of a refresh for some time. This was a great opportunity to spruce things up." He went on to note that "the safer and cleaner our public spaces are, the more desirable they become as places to live and work."

This project reflects our broader commitment to the Southern Suburbs. Alongside our longstanding partnerships with Living Roots and U-Turn Homeless Ministries, we've been proud to support local institutions and events, including the Pinelands Club, Enigma Padel Club, Rondebosch Croquet Club, SACS Junior Rugby, Constantia Primary School, and community Quiz Nights. These initiatives play a vital role in nurturing the unique spirit that makes this community such a remarkable place.

We look forward to continuing to give back to the communities we're proud to be part of.
